Dec 8, 2008 Here is something rare, you can read book three in the Maximum Ride series, Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports, and you don’t need to have read the first two books. You can just jump right in there on the third book and you will still enjoy the book. I thought the book was full of action and humor and I’m now planning to go back and read the first two books. I hear they are working on a movie, which will probably be great to see (release date 2010).

Maximum Ride is a science fiction/fantasy series written by the award-winning American author, James Patterson, starting from April 19, 2005 and continuing to the present. Each of the novels in the series has reached #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list.
