Aug 26, 2008 Outcast, The forth book in The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series, is my favorite of them all. My son liked the book so much that we read it in just two days. The books were written by Michelle Paver. They are very interesting and full of action.
A word of warning though, there is violence and some vivid descriptions of blood, death and animals dying (which really bothers my younger son). We actually had to skip over the second book, Spirit Walker. I attempted to read it and knew after the first few pages that it was just too gross and disturbing.
For Two Moons Torak has hidden a terrible secret—and now it is revealed. Cast out of the clans and on the run from clan members who will kill him, Torak and Wolf settle on an island in the Great Lake for the summer. But he is not safe there, either. Relentlessly pursued by Seshru the Viper Mage, one of the Soul-Eaters’s strongest Mages, Torak must defend himself and the clans from her terrible plans—but how?
Outcast, the fourth book in Michelle Paver’s Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series, is an action-packed adventure that keeps readers hooked from start to finish. The story follows Torak, who is cast out of his clan and pursued by dangerous enemies. Alongside his loyal companion, Wolf, Torak faces numerous challenges as he struggles to survive and protect the clans from the sinister Viper Mage, Seshru. This book is perfect for older kids who enjoy intense stories filled with danger, suspense, and emotional depth. The vivid descriptions and well-crafted world of ancient tribes and magical elements make it an immersive experience. However, parents should be aware of the violence and dark themes, making it more suitable for mature readers. Outcast provides a thrilling continuation to the series, blending adventure and fantasy in a way that captivates young readers who are ready for a more intense and gripping story.
