June 14, 2009 Our family has been reading the Magyk series for the last couple of months. We are all enjoying the books. They are very interesting and fun to read. These books are full of details, which really pull you into this imaginary world. Great for Middle Grade readers, especially boys, and young adults, too.

The series, aimed at children aged nine to twelve, follows the adventures of Septimus Heap who, as a seventh son of a seventh son, has magical powers.

Septimus Heap is a series of fantasy novels, written by English author Angie Sage. Four novels, entitled Magyk, Flyte, Physik and Queste, have been published, the first (Magyk) in 2005 and the most recent (Queste) in 2008. A fifth book, Syren, is scheduled to be published September 29, 2009 in USA, and a full color supplement to the series, entitled The Magykal Papers, is in preparation. The books have appeared on national bestsellers lists and received worldwide critical acclaim; Warner Bros. acquired the rights to produce a movie based on the first book.
