Day 3, shoulder surgery recovery diary
Last night I got my first good night sleep since the surgery. The trick for me was not to take a pain pill before I went to bed. This is probably the reason why I woke up so stiff and sore this morning. The first two nights I had to take pain medication; but I just can’t sleep when I take that stuff.

Writing on pain meds here, so sorry if this comes out wonky.

Today my husband helped me change the bandages. I was surprised when we removed the padding to find that there was a bunch of writing on my shoulder. This time with the laparoscopic surgery they had to punch four holes. My shoulder surgery last year (on my left shoulder) only had three holes.

Occasionally, I forget and use my right hand. This causes a sharp pain in my shoulder.

I found a picture of the shoulder immobilizer they gave me at the hospital. When I went home there were extra pieces attached to this sling. I figured out later that the extra straps came with the ice machine and not the sling.
